FP1876 FOOTPRINT Mortice Gauge
This is a traditional tool that is a part of every woodworkers tool kit. The Footprint Beech wood Combined Mortise and Marking Gauge is used on one side to mark wood so that a mortise and tenon joint can be created using two hardened steel pins. On the reverse side of the gauge is a single hardened steel pin to mark parallel line marks. The mortise and marking pins have been hardened to prevent the pins loosing there point and thus extending the working life of the gauge. A tough wearing yellow plastic thumb screw allows ease of adjusting the head position on the stem of the marking gauge. A brass slide enables the mortise pins to be moved up and down the neck of the gauge.
